The Darkness in Blooming
This is an original acrylic painting by Becca Heavrin. The canvas measures 18 inches wide by 24 inches tall. The image extends around all four sides of the gallery wrapped canvas which is .75 inches deep and has a professional hanging wire attached to the back for easy installation.
The image: The Darkness in Blooming is about change, an inevitable and vital part of life and living. A caterpillar becomes a butterfly - it's a metaphor that comes to mind when talking about human development or when someone takes deliberate motions to step into themselves emotionally, spiritually, and/or intellectually. But, I would argue, that process is filled with darkness too. It's about facing into that darkness, befriending that darkness and not pushing it away. In order to re-write the behaviors and thoughts that have gotten us to a certain point and threaten us if we don't evolve, we need to face the darkness, go through the darkness and come out into the light. The Darkness in Blooming is about the duplicity of change as something hard and painful as well as vital and ultimately expansive, perhaps expansive even beyond imagination itself.
